York Botanical Art Prize 2020
YBAP Creative Process
As one of the 59 finalists for Gallery 152's York Botanical Art Prize 2020 I figured I would document my creative process.
My piece is a based on the Mungyte banksia cone, commonly known as Firewood Banksia (menziesii).
All of the cones were on the ground, and collected from a friend's house in Kensington.
Using soy mordanted calico, and a mix between solar and gas dyeing, these are the colours I managed!
